My Dog Spot obedience classes offer a training experience unlike any other. Designed with the unique needs of each dog and owner in mind, these classes are geared toward offering everyone an experience that will benefit their own "pack"....their entire family. Classes take place in a large 1200 sq ft training room where each family has room to work safely as a group. Next everyone moves to a private area where they can work at their own pace. Each class is taught by TWO certified and professional instructors allowing the social classroom environment that is beneficial to all dogs, but the one-on-one instruction often necessary for success. The classes are all certified for the American Kennel Club S.T.A.R. Puppy Program and AKC Canine Good Citizen testing is available at the end of every course for a small additional fee. Tests can also be taken by appointment at any other time (classes are not required for testing). Free tutorials are included when needed, and make-up classes can be scheduled during regular business hours. Each class can be repeated as many times as the owner feels necessary at half price.
Level One
Learn how to teach your dog basic commands or just to make those commands more reliable! Level one includes how to teach commands like sit, down, stay, take-it, leave-it, drop it, loose leash walking, crate training, and potty training. The trainers will also cover great topics like basic communication and handling skills, nutrition, and how to get your dog to listen despite distractions! Dogs that have had little or no training as well as puppies (recommended starting age is at least ten weeks) are welcome to attend. All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations. Next class begins Monday, January 30th at 6:00 P.M.
Level Two

Alsoincluded are a variety of games designed to build your dog's reliabilty and focus. Dogs must have completed a level one class or be able to demonstrate basic obedience commands. Next class begins Saturday, January 28th at 1:00 P.M.
Level Three
Pass the AKC CGC! This class will explain each of the ten test items and why dogs are tested for these behaviors. The class begins with a trial run of the test. The instructors then work with you and your dog to correct problem areas; so that on the day of the test you will be confident in knowing you and your dog will pass! Challenging games and activities test your dog's reliability and stimulate their minds. Dogs must be able to reliably demonstrate basic commands and be up to date on vaccinations to attend.
The fee for each six week class is $80.00. Classes are approximately one hour in length and meet once a week.
